Payload CMS Development Agency in India
Websites and apps built with Payload and Next.js, for teams that want to own their content and their code. This website runs on it.
What is Payload CMS?
Payload is an open source content management system that lives inside your Next.js project. You define your content in code, and Payload creates the admin panel and the APIs from it. Your content sits in your own database, on hosting you choose, with no per-seat CMS bill.
When Payload is the right call
It fits when your content has real structure, such as products, locations or team pages that appear in many places. It fits when editors need drafts and roles, and when the same content feeds a website and an app. It also suits teams tired of depending on plugins that update on someone else's schedule.
It's the wrong call if you have no developer support and want to install features yourself. WordPress is still easier for that. Be honest with yourself about this one: Payload gives you control, and control needs someone to look after it.
What we build with Payload
- Marketing websites with page blocks your team can arrange without a developer
- Content backends for mobile apps and web applications
- Headless stores, with Payload for content and Shopify for selling
- Moves from WordPress or Shopify, with redirects and SEO checks
We run our own site on it
The page you're reading comes from Payload 3 and Next.js, on Postgres. Setting it up taught us things the docs skip, like how a cloud host's server environment can change what a Next.js build needs. We've also set up draft-only roles, so that a person always approves what goes live. Those are the details we bring to your project.
Questions about Payload
Is Payload free?
The software is open source. You still pay for hosting, your database and the people who build and maintain the site.
Can my non-technical team edit content?
Yes, once it's set up. Editors get a normal admin panel with drafts and previews. The developer work happens at the start, when the content structure is defined.
We're on WordPress. Do we have to rebuild everything?
The site gets rebuilt, but your content, URLs and SEO details can come across. Our WordPress to Payload migration page explains how. Still deciding on the wider build? See website development.
